    A Cry For Holiness

by Michele D. Aluoch, MS, LPCC

    (c. 2008 by Michele D. Aluoch)

The Lord is calling out now to a people who have ears to hear. He is saying, "behold, even now I am at the door." But He is also saying He is so saddened by the behavior of people who are calling themselves "His." People no longer want to live upright and holy. Our churches have somehow made this an afterthought, a "good idea" of yesteryear as if Biblical days were something of the past and God's standards have magically gone out the window. However, the Lord has been crying out for a bride who will passionately and unyieldingly cry out with Him for righteousness.

We ask the wrong question. We ask, "How will living a holy life deprive me? " rather than "What does He see?" Dare we allow the Lord Himself to "search and probe us, to find if there be any wicked way in us?" (Ps 139) Dare we ask and listen to His response which is truly the only one that should matter.

So what does He see when He looks at His church? He sees pastors and ministers looking at pornography in the early morning hours thinking no one sees or knows. Ah- but He knows and what is done "in secret" will be revealed in the light. He sees people calling themselves Christians who are having divisive spirits, causing disunity in the body of Christ, and attempting to do ministry without the source of His anointing. He sees the church looking no different form the world in manner, language, and dress.

How dare we think that the mandates- yes mandates- of the Lord are just suggestions. When you love a person you want to please them but yet we say we love our Lord and we have made Him nothing more than an afterthought and idea, a suggestion. The Lord would speak to the few who are even willing to hear:

"I will no longer be your suggestion- your afterthought. I will no longer let you call my name on your altars and pray and act as if you are portraying forms and fashions of truth, purity, and godliness but refraining from abiding in my truth. I ask you what you did with that time I gave you when you could have been seeking and serving me instead of doing hidden sins?, when I was ready to pour a new revelation of my anointing and presence into you but you chose to defile my temple instead? I ask you where you went when you could have been preaching, praying and ministering to souls but you found something 'more entertaining?' I ask you how you responded when you were walking round about town and they used my name in vain? Did you walk by or did you confront them telling them this is my Lord? Were you ashamed of me?"

"I am searching and seeking," says the Lord, "but I am finding very few- very few indeed. Even those who once cared about purity in the secret places are allowing themselves to be defiled. Either you are my temple, my bride, or you are not. I am not suggesting. I am asking you therefore NOW- will you serve me or will you continue to serve other gods?"

"Dare not think idolatry is dead. You have said that 'but I have made no statues of gold or silver, I have not consumed my time to where I have totally forgotten God.' Yet I say even now your idols in the secret places of your mind and heart are beginning to consume you and have consumed you more than you know. "

"It is true that I will cast your sin as far as the east is from the west. It is true that I will utterly blot out and no more remember it. It is true that I will cast the defilement of yesterday into the sea of forgetfulness but even you, who were once my church, are becoming so far removed from the bridal preparations I have for you."

"Today is your day of decision. Today I am asking you to make a choice. You may not delay You may not decide based on your mother, father, or family. You may not decide based on your denomination and doctrines. You may not decide based on what you consider the many good works you have done and the souls you have won for my kingdom while all the while you secretly laid altars for other gods in your heart."

"Either today will be your day of utter renewal and repentance or it will be your day of destruction. And lest you think I am speaking to some reprobate sinner let me repeat that I am calling my bride. I will no more tolerate a polygamous people. Repent now for now is the time. For my light will always exposes the darkness."

"Now to you, my ones who are walking away from the purity I have called you, I remind you of my mercy. Mercy is new every morning. But my mercy is never a game. You cannot say but' it was only one lustful look a few times on the internet, it was only one hidden discussion that I lied about and covered up, it was only one impure thought, it was only one time I didn't tell the whole gospel and boldly as you put it in my heart, it was only...." I will once again press into you and call you into the fold as your shepherd if you will let me receive you back. But you must allow yourself to be restored and taken to the place of utter, unbridled passion and zeal, love, and fervor for me as your Maker, Creator, and Husband or you will truly not enter in at my returning."

Since the Lord spoke this to me regarding the bride He is returning for He also gave me strong discernment and a disgust and sadness for what He sees. He showed me the arrogance people who were once His own have succumbed to by thinking in terms of entitlement, cover ups, blame, and excuses. He showed me the way carnal reasoning has become so rooted in people's lives that they struggle to see "secret" sins as a problem because they figure (in their minds that) they "don't really affect anybody." He showed me that the way of life now for the average person who says he or she is a "Christian" is nothing more than a sinking mire of compromise dragging the proud deeper away from what was once their first love. He showed me that where His people used to hunger for Gethsemane and taking up their cross just so they could press in closer to their Lord trough tears they now press into the voice of compromise. Sadly, His Truth and integrity are nearly blotted out as they were on Calvary, not by the reprobate sinner but by the lying, deceiving man and woman who acts as if His mandates are only suggestions.

I praise the Lord that Heis a loving Father who is not just suggesting some "good ideas." We somehow think it is to harsh if we take God at what He says but let's look at His truth. He cannot go against Himself. We would have no respect for an earthly daddy who, when it is time to discipline His children says, "okay kids, here is what I would like you to do but you may still go wherever you want and do as you please." With good reason we should not respect that person. Yet we act as if it should somehow be different with our Lord. When we act as if His standards are just suggestions we are saying that we have put Him at a place of being far from Lordship in our hearts and have even made Him worse than sinners do.

So, I ask you , my brothers and sisters in Christ, "what will you do? How will you respond?" The Lord is calling us back to a time of utter travailing and weeping before Him. There are no small compromises and hidden sins. There are no okay presumptive sinful actions that we can do daring to expect His mercy to cover any old habit, addiction, pleasure, lie, or personal gratification. I will be certainly falling on my face before the Lord because I hear the voice of the Master saying that now is the time to ready ourselves. I also am concerned that if we are remnant believers we must realize that the holiness and anointing of yesterday won't cut it. Without the Holy Spirit drenching, living and breathing saturated abundant life of Christ in every area of our thoughts, emotions, and behavior we will not make it when He comes for His bride.

You may have said a sinner's prayer. You may be a minster or "member" of a particular church. You may have been raised in a Christian home. You may be winning souls but none of this is enough.

My prayer is that we shall cry out together with uttering s and groanings in the spirit. And lest we think this message is for someone else as the religious folk of Jesus' day did, we better not point fingers either. The only right attitude each heart and mind should have is, "Lord, purify me. Lord, draw me unto you. Lord, never allow me to remain the same. Lord, take me to your cross moment by moment, day by day. Lord, make me disgusted with the hidden sins, the underhanded words, the form and fashion of holiness that denies your power, the comfort with yesterday's anointing.

I cry out even now. I hear loudly the wailing and gnashing of teeth. We tend to think of the sinner , the reprobate when we are reminded of this but we forget the Lord is calling for a pure, spotless blameless bride. It would be too sad and pathetic if some of those for whom it is too late are the very ones who thought they were o kay because they were  saved, did righteous "things", and reasoned that "mostly adhering to His principles" is enough. There is no arranged marriage with our Lord. We are not guaranteed the promise of a wedding with the king just because we think it is a nice idea. No. Only the pure, spotless, blameless bride will have invitations to the marriage supper of the Lamb

Are you part of this pure, spotless, blameless bride or not? There is a reason those adjectives- pure, spotless, and blameless- are listed. The Lord didn't just say I am coming for a bride. That could have meant any bride. He specified the type of bride for a reason. As such, we must be specific about the vessels He absolutely, unequivocally requires and mandates us to be.

Time is ticking away. Let us be repenting, travailing, and crying out for His heart, Him to live through us. Let us get back to what is in Scripture- if there is something causing defilement and problems we must cut it off. Stop being on the internet if you are tempted to do wrong. Tell your spouse about your struggles and have the thing turned off. Stop passing by those places if you cannot refrain form worldly exploits. Be accountable to the man or woman of God and walk with that person on a different route with avoids the problem or stay home altogether if need be. Stop giving a listening ear to jokes that do not glorify God. Don't fellowship with those people anymore because there is no innocent way of taking lightly and joking about the things of God. Stop!!! Don't even entertain it in the first place.

He never said follow me when you like it. He just said"follow me." Either we follow or we are left behind. Notice too He said "follow." The problem inherent inidolatry is that we want to lead, not follow. We want to be the privileged one,the big shot.We want the glory. The Lord will never share His glory with another and if we love Him we should never want to share in His glory.
